The Teachers - Pádraig & Róisín Mc Eneany
The Gradam na hÉigse award was presented by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann to Pádraig and Róisín recently for making significant contributions to the promotion of Irish music, song, and dance. The award is one of the highest honors within the Comhaltas organization, celebrating decades of dedication to Irish traditional arts.
Pádraig began dancing at the age of five and Róisín at the age of 3 or 4. Both ended up dancing in competitions and first learned from, then danced with Connie Ryan. They toured the USA as members of the Slievenamon Set Dancers, as well as appearing on television many times.

They also taught several different classes from the early in the 1990's. In 1994 Connie asked them to take over his Cape May workshop in New Jersey, which they still teach to today. After Connie passed away in 1997, they took over his dancing class. Today they travel extensively, teaching in many different countries.
Pádraig and Róisín are well known for their attention to detail, maintaining the special features of each set, and for their traditional steps. They watch over their classes and always help the dancers dance sets as they were traditionally danced.
The Limestone Rock Céilí Band
Following the sad passing of accordian player Charlie Harris the Sliabh Aughty has decided to rename their band to the Limestone Rock. As the Sliabh Aughty was strongly associated with the fantastic rhythm of Charlie Harris it seemed fitting to let the Sliabh Aughty name rest with his spirit.
The Limestone Rock will include past members of the Sliabh Aughty (Jim Corry and Mark Donnellan) with the addition of accordian player John Canny. John who hails from Killanena in East Clare has been playing with Mark in Peppers in Feakle for many years. The name Limestone Rock is from a reel of the same name. A tune that was closely associated with the playing of Joe Cooley and Charlie Harris and is a favourite of its present band members.
In memory of Charlie's dedication to music and playing for dancers for many years we will dedicate Friday nights Ceili to him.
